Frequently Asked Questions

We start by asking some basic questions in our signup form.  After that we'll call you to discuss specifics, and to get an idea of how best to meet your needs.  For example, we might ask how many FAQ categories you might need, how you want signups to work, etc.  This usually takes one or two conversations.  Then we get to work with customizing your features.

While your site is being set up, we also get to work customizing the look of your site.  If you opted to get our coporate identity package, then we would go over your design requirements, provide comps (samples) for your approval, and deliver the finalized graphics.

The last step is putting it all together, and training you and your staff on how to use the site, day-to-day usage tips, etc.  And of course, if ever you have questions, we're always here to help!

"Gachi" is Japanese - , it means: artistry, elegance, good taste, and grace.  It sums us up nicely.

As a general rule, we will copy over all of your existing content and do our best to make it appear the same as on your old site. In rare cases, if your site has a LOT of content we will quote you our hourly rate for overages before beginning.

Gachi Sites are designed to be exceedingly simple to use... as easy as writing an email.  But if you don't have time or don't have enough volunteers (remember you can have as many site contributors as you want, who can all work independently from anywhere in the world), we can make basic changes for you at no charge.  As you see on the pricing page three hours of updates per month are included.

No.  We can only guarantee the quality we promise if we house the website.  However, if you don't have an offsite email server or a special configuration, the only difference will be better spam protection, a faster web site, better overall server performance.

And if you do have a custom configuration of any kind, we can make it work.  From custom email servers to in-house spam filters, no matter your existing configuration your new Gachi Site will be compatible.

Yes.  GachiSites runs off custom code, that we maintain and upgrade on a regular basis, and that we guarantee will be fast, stable, and dependable.  The only way we can make this assurance is by making sure that we are also responsible for the other links in the chain, like server hardware and bandwidth.

Many organizations have special requirements, like in-house email servers (such as Exchange).  In these cases moving over the whole site isn't feasible, we just point the web traffic to GachiSites servers where the web site is housed.  All the other services would stay the same.

Gachi Sites have a very big list of available features - and we can build a solution for nearly any problem! If you don't see what you want just give us a call and we'll come up with something.

Domains are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  If someone else owns the domain you need, you have two choices: offer to buy the domain from the current owner, or look for alternative domain names.

If the domain is being legitimately used, it's rare that the current owner will part with it unless you offer them a lot.  If the domain is owned by a "domain parking" company (a company that purchases domains en masse in the hopes that someone will pay above-market prices for them later), then they usually have pricing already in place.  Generally these will run between $200 - $5000 depending on how desirable the domain is.

It's almost always better to simply look for an alternative domain.  First, these are the normal price (and in our case, free), and there are a large number of variations of any given domain name.  You'll probably be surprised by what's available, and don't worry, we do all the leg work checking to see what's available.

Sure, these are called "domain pointers", where you have a main domain and others that point to that main domain.  A one-year domain registration is included with every Gachi Site, and additional domains and years can be purchased for just $29.95/year.

If you opt to get a custom layout built then you can start wherever you want, either from scratch or basing the new design on your old site.  Many organizations opt to maintain the same general theme and colors, then we make it look like a million dollars.

When we add you as an affiliate, we'll send you a password to log in to our billing system along with your email address. After you log in you can click the 'Affiliate Information' link in the menu on the right side and you'll have full access to all your info.

Send us an email or give us a call (305.749.5467) and we'll get you set up. You don't even have to be an existing client you just need a place to put the link for sending people to us.

Affiliate is just a fancy name for someone who gets a commission for referring people to Gachi Sites. Each affiliate has their own unique link that tells us where our customer is coming from - that way we know who to pay!
